Working as a Functional Specialist, you will have the opportunity to take your career to the next level – broadening your experience, adding to your skillset and opening the door to incredible prospects in the future.
You will be part of a team that prides itself on a people-centered approach: believing in supporting and listening to team members, offering exceptional opportunities for training and development, and making sure to always recognise and reward good performance. As a Functional Specialist, it will be no different; you will be given all the training and support you need to go far, along with a first-class salary and benefits package.
About the functional specialist role
You will be multi-skilled to manage a caseload through the end-to-end journey. This creates a personalised, inclusive, safe and empathetic service for claimants, whilst also ensuring the collection of the right evidence at the right time. By empowering you to manage cases to conclusion, duplication of review is reduced and you have greater autonomy and job variety.
An infinity rota has been introduced to schedule your day. Aligned with NHS good practice, a dedicated resource planning team will use bespoke technology to assign you to a rolling five-week pattern of home-based and consultation centre-based work, including a consultation centre-based ‘cover’ week, on a rotational basis.
Time will be built in for breaks, CPD, audit amendments, requesting and reviewing further medical evidence, team meetings etc.
What is the salary?
Everyone starts at £38,500 per annum rising to £39,500 depending on performance.
Further progression is set out in our structured Career Pathways Framework and you will work with your manager to demonstrate achievement against a defined level of competency.
