Donard Recruitment are presently recruiting for a Service Manager to join a locally owned, market leading commercial catering equipment company as they continue to grow and develop their existing team.

With over 40 years’ experience, reputable client base and ambitious new ownership, this is an exciting time to join the senior management team of a company who are seeking a talented and highly capable Service Manager who understands the importance of upholding the company’s core values through the delivery of exceptional customer service standards, while also having the opportunity to put their own mark on the business.

Service Manager Qualifications & Experience Criteria:

  • Possess 10+ years’ experience in the servicing, maintenance and installation of commercial refrigeration units
  • Have previously carried out servicing, maintenance and installation work on commercial catering equipment, including food preparation, cooking and warewashing appliances
  • NVQ Level 3 in Servicing and Maintaining RefrigerationSystems (or similar, required)
  • COMCAT 1,2 & 3 (preferred)
  • Gas Safe Registered (preferred)
  • Demonstrable Health & Safety awareness
  • Possess Maths & English GCSE’s (or equivalent)
  • Full clean driving license

Service Manager Person Specification Criteria:

  • Excellent industry knowledge aligned with strong service delivery skills to build lasting customer relationships
  • Experience in staff management
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), as well as being IT literate
  • Possess an approachable demeanour to be the first point of contact for client and engineer troubleshooting
  • Promote a Health & Safety culture with a diligent approach to ensuring engineer and company compliance at all times
  • Strategic thinking – ability to think ‘outside the box’ by continually reviewing established working practices to achieve operational and cost efficiencies through effective job, stock and supplier management systems
  • Comfortable accepting managerial responsibility and accountability for all aspects of the Service Department
  • Ability to lead by example, with a positive, can-do attitude
